Historic Lake Front Bellagio Villa

We were invited to visit the Luxury Lake Como Villa in Bellagio in 2016, when we learned that this historical and majestic Villa would be welcoming guests. At that time, it underwent the removal of the historical relics, which many are still contained in glass enclosures in the Villa.  We approached the large gates accessible from a narrow road, which runs alongside the front of the lake. In the distance, you can see the large imposing stone structure.  Contractor’s were meticulously working on the renovations for this extraordinary  villa where a unique pool was almost completed. The renovations were delayed because of the weather in the Lake Region in the earlier Spring, so the home was not ready for rent until late in the season. Upgrades to the Villa in 2019 will include full air conditioning and tennis courts. 

We were welcomed by a bright eyed smiling, warm gentlemen, who was the decedent and owner of the original builders of the Villa. He was inviting and anxious to show me, what he was keenly aware is one of the masterpieces of Lake Como. Many Villas surround the lake, some perched high on the mountains, but none have the perfect views of the town of Bellagio in one direction, Menaggio and Tremezzo directly across the lake and in the near distance, Villa Balbianello. At each angle your breathless with views that can not be described in words.

The Villa had the aura of history and a legacy that leaves you immediately intrigued to learn. There is an aristocratic family who lived for many decades at the Villa and you will see many collectibles that highlight their life. They once lived in this property and the grandsons are the current proprietors. We strolled the property and as we turned each corner, as I walked very slowly to take in, what I knew would be a memorable walk, only to be remembered as one of the most beautiful strolls of my lifetime. Imagining that our guests could be welcomed here to spend a holiday, left me thinking of a way that I could describe this magic to my clients. It is in the 100 photos I took, too many to publish. Together with the owners and my own, you will find a collection of what I have gathered to share with all of you.

The Villa has rich wood floors of the finest quality along with dramatic high entrances to each room with thick wood trimming throughout. The windows extra large of stone and tile of the finest quality. There was nothing spared in the construction of this villa I could easily refer to as a palace or Palazzo. There are 10 steps to a large terrace with panoramic views, from the 1st level there are 26 steps to arrive and 33 steps to arrive to the 2nd level of the Villa.

The views form the pool are of Tremezzo across the lake and you can clearly see the Villa Balbianello to the left. Just around the corner you will see a perfect view of Bellagio. Nowhere on the Lake are you able to see all of the icon landmarks that make up the sought after view many come to see in Lake Como. The pool area offers comfortable lounge chairs and al fresco dining. the pool is heated and this is included in the cost of the Villa.  The owner showed me his wooden boat, carefully tucked away in its own structure or garage, suitable to be a villa itself, situated on prime lakefront property. You can enjoy nightlife, cafe’s and shops at nearby Bellagio, while enjoying seclusion in your own private estate property. A full staff is on the property in another unit and are available to prepare daily meals (2 per day), housekeeping and assistance.

Due to the value of the property interior a €5000 damage deposit is requested. This will be refunded following check out. The deposit is sent to the owner or to our agency and returned following check out. You also have the option to pay in cash at check in. A €1000 for food is also encouraged and unused money is returned at check out. This is so that the chef can purchase food during your stay for meals and this is managed prior to check in and returned at check out, so that you can arrange prior and enjoy our time at the villa without planning during your holiday!
